Caring for paper flowers

First things first, DO NOT WATER!

Keep out of direct sunlight

I use a variety of paper from specialist manufacturers, and not all are fade resistant. I tend to favour using German florist crepe paper because it has a high UV resistance (i.e. doesn't fade too much), there are times other paper types or brands are better suited; for instance a specific colour is required, finer paper makes more realistic flowers or the paper needs to be dyed, coloured to get the desired effect.

Dusting

The easiest way is to gently shake the flowers to remove dust. Another option is to a hairdryer (or something similar) on a cool, low setting to blow away any dust.

Arranging flowers

All the flowers are made on wire stems which are then covered with crepe paper to make them look more realistic. The stems can be bent or shaped as required, or can be cut shorter with wire cutters.

Reshaping petals

If, for whatever reason, the flowers have lost some shape or definition, it's possible to add curl by using something like a pen, pencil, bamboo skewer or even a knitting needle to curl the edge of the petals.
